School expansion

Derwent Primary School will be officially two form entry from September 2023.  Already a number of year groups have two classes. 

The classes are:

N1 Ladybirds

N2 Caterpillars

EYFS Hedgehogs and Squirrels

Y1 Rabbits and Hares

Y2 Owls and Ravens

Y3 Mice and Voles

Y4 Foxes and Wild Cats

Y5 Otters and Deers

Y6 Hawks and Eagles

A new KS2 building known as Buttercup Block is now in full use and has a DT and art room as well as a dedicated SEN room and a music studio. In the original school, the classrooms are now being updated in line with the new build and the school has a huge library which is dedicated to the memory of Caroline Coombs, the previous Chair of Governors and passionate advocate of children's reading.
