WORLD WAR II - Anderson Shelters
As part of the History Lessons, Foxes Class have been learning about life during World War II. They have been learning about food rationing and have made a few recipes from the era, which were surpirisingly tasty! One of the projects which the children had to do at home, was to research and make their own model Anderson shelters. The children have produced the most marvellous work (photos above) and the 'real ones' will be displayed until the end of term.
'Go the Extra Mile'
In Year 3 we took part in a competition run by the Geographical Association called "Go the Extra Mile", its mission is to encourage field studies.
The pupils were asked to walk in a straight line from the schools taking note of the human and physical features they saw on the way. They then drew a map of these features. The children were encouraged to think why the place is used in this way, how they feel about it, what would they like to change and why.
Here are some examples of the maps which they drew. Click on each name to view their maps.
